IBrowse

IBrowse is a commercial web browser for the operating system AmigaOS.

History

IBrowse was created in 1994 from the Amiga port of the Mosaic browser under the name aMosaic.

He was further developed by the now defunct company Omnipresence and marketed under the name IBrowse 1996.

1999, version 2.2 was released.

2001, the progression from the original author Stefan Burström was reintroduced, the more developed it ever since.

The latest version is 2.4 ( as at 25 December 2006), a development to version 3.0 (with the most significant change for CSS to be the first to support ) provided that, however, the beta no longer achieved.

Distributed IBrowse was last by the company IOSPIRIT. Since 1 July 2007, the company has stopped selling Amiga software and now develops software for Apple products. Licenses for IBrowse can only be ordered directly from the developer still online.

Technical details

The MUI application IBrowse supports HTML, HTML 4 partially, JavaScript, Flash via plugin ( beta), frames, SSL, and other standards. The HTTP and FTP protocols can be used. Since version 2.2 called tabbed browsing is supported.
