Ice beer

Eisbier, (English beer Ice ), is the name given above or bottom-fermented beer that is stored extremely cold. Thus, the taste of the beer is milder. The term came in the 1990s in Canada, was modeled on German beers named Eisbock.

The Eisbier is a very bright and mild beer. The fermentation process for this beer requires a high technical complexity. After completion of the brewing process, the young beer is stored at extremely low temperatures. This will form small ice crystals that bind the bitter compounds in beer. These crystals are then filtered out, which gives the beer its particularly mild taste. Eisbier usually has an alcohol content of about 5% and original wort content of at least 11 percent.
