Ice hockey at the 1936 Winter Olympics

The Olympic ice hockey tournament of the Olympic Winter Games in 1936 in Garmisch -Partenkirchen, Germany, was at the same time as the 10th Ice Hockey World Championship as well as 21 Hockey Championship. The tournament was held to 16 February 1936 by 6. 15 teams participated, which represented a new record.

The tournament started in four preliminary round groups; the top two teams of each group reached the second round. There the final round participants was determined in two groups of four teams. In the final round, the top two teams of each group subjected to a taking with its direct comparisons. For the first time was not Canada Olympic champion, but Britain took the defending champion, the first Olympic defeat at and won with mainly Canadian-born players the Gold Medal, the World Champion title and also in European comparison the European title.
