Ice hockey at the 1964 Winter Olympics

The Olympic ice hockey tournament of the Olympic Winter Games in 1964 in Innsbruck, Austria is also considered 31 Ice Hockey World Championship and 42 Hockey Championship. The games took place in the period from January 27 to February 9 instead. 16 teams participated in this tournament.

Were eligible to participate, the seven teams in the A- group of the Hockey World Cup 1963 ( The two German teams had to play again, who represents the divided Germany at the Olympics ), the first five teams in the B group as well as the winner of the C group. 1 - The placement was based on the Olympic rules by which include their goals scored in the tournament in the assessment. After the ( World Cup ) rules of the IIHF, after which only the goals of the teams listed with the same points, Canada would have won bronze.
