Ice Hockey European Championship 1924

The eighth Ice Hockey Championship was held for the first time in Italy. The tournament was played in Milan from 14 to 17 March 1924. It was one of two independent European Championships that have not been staged as part of the held in the same year World Championship or Olympic tournament. This should only happen once, and indeed in 1932. With six participating teams, there was again a new record attendance. Participants were defending champions Sweden and the teams from Switzerland, France, Belgium, Spain and Italy from the host country. For the Italians and Spaniards, it was a first. In his second appearance overall France celebrated his first European equal.
