Ice Hockey World Championships

Since 1920 Ice Hockey World Championships will take place, organized by the International Ice Hockey Federation ( IIHF ) are organized. Until 1928, only the tournaments during the Olympic Games (1920 Summer Olympic Games, in 1924 and 28 Olympic Winter Games ) were used as primitive world championship. Participants at the World Championships

As the number of hockey nations in the men it was no longer possible from the late 1950s to allow all registered for the tournament nations play in a World Cup tournament. Participants classification for the Women's Junior World Championship and the IIHF Inline Hockey World Championship takes place in a similar manner. The division division is analogous to that of men. The World Cup takes place since 2011 with eight teams, the first round will be played in two groups of four teams. In the two junior competitions, the top divisions play with ten teams, the junior with eight.
