Ice-sheet model

Ice sheet models use numerical methods to simulate the evolution, dynamics and thermodynamics of ice sheets such as the Greenland ice sheet, the Antarctic ice sheet or the great ice sheets of the northern hemisphere during the last ice age. Typical applications include studies of the glaciation of the Earth during past climate cycles, as well as projections of the retreat of the ice sheets under conditions of global warming.
