Ice sledge hockey at the 2006 Winter Paralympics
Sledge hockey was represented at the Winter Paralympics in 2006 for the fourth time since 1994 at the Paralympics. For athletes with disabilities of the lower extremities 120 players from eight countries participated.
For the tournament qualified alongside hosts Italy the top three teams of the last Ice Sledge Hockey World Championship 2004 Norway, USA, Sweden, Canada as a North American representative, Japan for Asia and Germany as the reigning European champions. The last place reached the UK in a qualifying tournament in November 2005 in Turin.
Venue of the tournament was the rebuilt hall Torino Expositions.

Qualifying tournament in 2005
From 5 to 7 November 2005 took place in the converted to the Olympic Hockey Hall of Expositions Torino in Turin, the qualifying tournament for the Paralympic Winter Games take place.
