Iceland at the 1956 Summer Olympics
Iceland participated in the Olympic Summer Games 1956 in Melbourne, Australia with a delegation of two athletes (all men ) at two competitions in one sport ( athletics) part. It was a medals ( silver ) to be won. The youngest athlete was the Athlete Hilmar Thorbjörnsson (22 years and 32 days), the oldest athlete was the Athlete Vilhjálmur Einarsson (22 years and 176 days). It was the seventh part of the country at the Olympic Summer Games. Standard-bearer was Vilhjálmur Einarsson.
