Icelandic Literary Prize

The Icelandic Literature Prize ( Isl Íslensku bókmenntaverðlaunin ) is presented annually in three categories: " Fiction ", "Property and literature " and awarded (since 2013) " Children's Literature ".

The award was presented to the centenary of the Association of Icelandic publishers ( Félag íslenskra bókaútgefenda ) in 1989 donated. By 2012 he was awarded in two categories for fiction and nonfiction and literature, in addition since 2013, in a category for children's literature. In early December are proposed in the categories of five books, which is a good advertising in the time of the Christmas book flood ( Jólabókaflóðið ). An appointed by the Association Committee, the prizes will be awarded each the following January.
