The parliamentary elections in Iceland in 1999 took place on 8 May 1999. In choosing the 63 members of the Althing were redefined.

The 1999 election was the first election after the fundamental change in the Icelandic political landscape. Thus, various left-wing forces came together for the Alliance, followed by another new party, the Left-Green Movement was formed, which did not join this alliance. In 1998, the Liberal Party of Iceland had already been established.

The election brought a significant victory for the Independence Party under Prime Minister Oddsson Davíð. You could combine 40.7 % of the votes.

The coalition government consisting of the Independence Party and the Progressive Party, was continued.
