Ichnia

Itschnja (Ukrainian Ічня; Russian Ичня ) is a city in Chernihiv Oblast of Ukraine, and the center of the same name Rajons with 12,700 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2005).

Administratively, the municipality is divided in addition to the city proper or in the urban-type settlement Druzhba ( Дружба ) and the two villages Awhustiwka ( Августівка ) and Beswodiwka ( Безводівка ).

History

The city was first mentioned in the 14th century. 1957 Itschnja received the status of the city.
