Ichstedt

Ichstedt is a municipality in the Thuringian Kyffhauserkreis. It belongs to the administrative community resources center Artern.

Geography

The village is situated at the eastern end of the Natural Park Kyffhaeuser, 8 km west of the Kyffhaeuser monument. Just north of the village runs the border with Saxony -Anhalt. Ichstedt is located about 13 km south of Saxony- Anhalt Sangerhausen, 9 km east of Bad Frankenhausen and 7 km west of Artern.

History

The village was mentioned in a charter of Louis the German 874 for the first time. Wolfgang Kahl researched the documentary first mention of Ichstedt for the period from 750 to 802 in the village there was once a moated castle, which was located on the site of the later manor. It was used to monitor and secure the helmets transition. Low remains bear witness to this system.

Center of the village is the stretch of road main road Schlossplatz. On the western outskirts of the village there is a settlement.

Economy and infrastructure

Ichstedt has no railway connection, the nearest railway station is located about 8 km east Artern ( Thuringia). About Subordinated highways Ichstedt with the neighboring villages Borxleben, Udersleben (city Bad Frankenhausen ) and ring connected life. In Bad Frankenhausen is connected to the national road 85, in Sangerhausen to the motorway A 38 (Göttingen- hall). In addition, in a few years following the connection to the A 71 (Erfurt - Sangerhausen ) with a driveway in Artern.
