Ichthyodectes (fish biters ) is an extinct genus of large predatory fish from the Upper Cretaceous.

Features

Ichthyodectes was about two meters long. The body was slender and elongated, the head small, incised foot deep column. The small dorsal fin was located in the posterior half of the body, the anal fin was slightly larger and stood slightly in front of the dorsal fin. Pectoral fins and pelvic fins were small and narrow, the pectoral fins slightly longer than the ventral fins. The caudal fin was very large and deeply forked, their praise were narrow.
