Ichthyotoxin
Dinogunellin is the toxic component ichthyotoxischer fish.
Occurrence
The toxin is found in the roe of many freshwater and brackish water fish that are native to Europe, Asia and America. Similarly, it is found in Eel blood and can trigger symptoms mentioned below in contact with mucous membranes inflammation and if swallowed.
Chemistry
In Stichaeus grigorjewi (family Sawback ) Scorpaenichthys marmoratus (family sculpins ) and Fundulus heteroclitus (family Zahnkärpflinge ) have been identified as Dinogunellin toxin. It is esterified with fatty acids, for example, palmitic acid or stearic acid.
Pharmacological action
Ichthyotoxische poisons have a blutzersetzende (haemolytic ) effect. You irritable to the mucous membranes. After eating, they trigger inter alia, diarrhea and vomiting, nausea, abdominal pain, diarrhea, a rapid and irregular pulse, cyanosis, fever and dizziness.
As countermeasures after consumption ichthyotoxischer poisons an immediate gastric emptying and doses of activated charcoal come into question. There is no specific antidote, so -called symptoms of poisoning are above treated symptomatically.
After a few days, poisoning victims recover, however, again.
