Icona Pop
Icona Pop (Italian pop star ) is a Swedish electropop duo. It consists of the singers Aino Jawo (born 7 July 1986) and Caroline Hjelt (born 8 November 1987).
History
Jawo and Hjelt attended the same music school in Stockholm and got to know at a given until 2009 by Hjelt party. The two friends were at first mainly as a DJs.
2011 the duo released along with the American hip- hop group Chiddy Bang Mind Your Manners song from their album Breakfast. It peaked at number 11 of the Australian singles chart and achieved double platinum status. In November the EP Nights like This appeared. In spring 2012 they released their second EP, which is titled Iconic. 2012 I Love It appeared with the first single from Icona Pop. The song peaked at # 2 on the Swedish charts. In the three German-speaking countries I Love It reached thanks to the use as a music in a commercial for Coca Cola Light, the Top 10 in Austria and Germany even 3rd place
On September 11, 2012, the second single We Got the World was published in Sweden, which place went to 29. 2012 was Icona Pop as opening act on the Lonely Hearts Club Tour of Marina and the Diamonds on the stage. On November 14, 2012 their debut album Icona Pop appeared in her home country.
On January 18, 2013 were Icona Pop as a live act on the Michalsky Stylenite of Berlin fashion designer Michael Michalsky. The performance was streamed live on the Internet and could be seen among others in the pages of FAZ.net, Bild.de and Vogue.de.
On February 20, 2013 Icona Pop was in the category of Best Newcomer awarded the Swedish music prize Grammis.
In July 2013 gave Icona Pop her new single All Night released. Also, the video clip for the single Girlfriend celebrated premiere.
On September 24, Icona Pop published their debut album, which is called This Is .. Icona Pop.
