Ida Auken

Ida Auken ( born April 22, 1978 in Valby ) is a Danish theologian and politician. She was from 3 October 2011 to February 3, 2014 Minister of Environment in the government of Prime Minister Helle Thorning- Schmidt. On 31 January 2014, it left the Socialist People's Party and joined the left-liberal party Venstre Det radicals.

Life

The daughter of the SF- Europe parliamentarian Margrete Auken and the literary scholar Erik A. Nielsen grew up in a western suburb of Copenhagen. Part of her education she graduated from a middle school in the United States. After her graduation she held in 1998 under a voluntary year in Central America, mainly in Nicaragua, on. Then they began at the University of Copenhagen to study theology, which she completed in 2006. Two abroad semester she spent in Berlin.

Ida Auken is married to the teacher Bent Meier Sørensen and mother of a son (* 2011). She is also a niece of the Danish politician Svend Auken.
