Ida County, Iowa

The Ida County is a county located in the U.S. state of Iowa. In the census in 2010, the County had 7089 inhabitants and a population density of 6.3 inhabitants per square kilometer. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Ida Grove.

The County is located in northwest Iowa, is located in the west about 50 miles from Nebraska and has an area of 1,119 square kilometers, of which one square kilometers of water surface. It borders the following Nachbarcountys:

History

The Ida County was formed on 15 January 1851. It was named probably after Ida Smith, the first child of European immigrants, was born in this area.
