Ida Random

Ida Random ( born April 2, 1945 in Scotland) is a British film designer with many years of career in Hollywood.

Life

Ida Random spent her childhood in South Africa and Liberia. Later she moved with her parents to Vancouver. From there she went to Los Angeles and established contact with the film. Her first work she performed as assistant to the production designer Richard Sylbert and Terence Marsh. As Sylberts colleague Ida Random 1982 received their first Attribution film as an architect in the biography of an artist Frances.

A moment later, the Scot started its activity as a single responsible head designer. Ida Random designed henceforth the Filmbauten to most high-quality entertainment films, including Brian De Palma's Body Double, the Western Silverado and Wyatt Earp - The life of a legend, and the tragicomedy The War of the Roses. For their sets for autistic drama Rain Man Ida Random 1989 he received an Oscar nomination.
