Ida Roland

Ida Roland ( born February 18, 1881 in Vienna, † March 27, 1951 in Nyon, Switzerland ), whose real name is actually Ida Klausner, was an Austrian actress who appeared in Austrian and German stages.

Her acting career began at the City Theatre in Innsbruck. On December 12, 1923 Ida Roland played on the Renaissance stage in Vienna, the title role in the premiere of Hans Kaltnekers mystery " The nurse " the lesbian Ruth.

From 1924 to 1927 she was one of the ensemble at the Vienna Burgtheater. Between 1927 and 1929 she appeared several times in the theater in the Josefstadt, but returned in 1935 and 1937 back to the Burgtheater.

In 1937 she retired from the stage. In 1938 she emigrated with her husband Richard Nikolaus Graf Coudenhove -Kalergi and lived from 1940 to 1945 in New York. Later she lived in Switzerland.

In 1966 ( 22nd District ) was named the Roland Alley after her in Vienna Donau City, 1970 in Vienna Ottakring ( 16th district ) of Rolandweg.
