Idaho State University

The Idaho State University (also called ISU ) is a public university in Pocatello in the U.S. state of Idaho. The main campus is located in Pocatello. Foreign bodies exist in Idaho Falls, Boise and Twin Falls. At the University of 12,581 students ( 2005) enrolled.

The pharmacy faculty of Idaho State University is among the best in the western United States.

History

On March 11, 1901, the government of Idaho decided to establish the university as Academy of Idaho and already in 1910, 300 students were enrolled. In 1915 she was renamed the Idaho Technical Institute and in 1927 in a branch of the University of Idaho with the name University of Idaho - converted South. In 1947 another name change to Idaho State College. At that time, about 2,000 students were enrolled. The last name change to the present name was Idaho State University in 1963. Present President of the University is Dr. Arthur C. Vailas.
