Idanthyrsus

Idanthyrsos was a Scythian king at the time of Skythenfeldzugs of the Persian Great King Darius I (514 BC). He was the son of a Saulios. According to the representation of Herodotus Idanthyrsos to the Persians have prevented the conquest of his homeland by the Persian attacks escaped again and again by retreating. Compared to Darius he declared by messenger that the Scythians did not flee out of fear about, but only to do what they did in peace. They have no permanent settlements to which they would be afraid, but only the graves of their ancestors.
