Idris Barzani

Idris Barzani (* 1944, † January 31, 1987; Kurdish: Idris Barzani ) was a Kurdish politician in Iraq. He was the son of the founder Mullah Mustafa Barzani, the KDP and the father of Nechirvan Idris Barzani.

Together with his brother Masud Barzani, the current president of the Kurdistan Autonomous Region, he took over after his father's death, the leadership of the KDP in Iraq. He was often traveling on diplomatic trips for the KDP. Unexpectedly, he died on January 31, 1987 of a heart attack.

He was one of the leaders of the Barzanistamms. His uncle Ahmed Barzani was the official head, Mulla Mustafa Barzani, while his father had actually taken the lead. Idris Barzani and his brother married daughters of Ahmed Barzani. My brother and cousin led an independent fundamentalist group of Kurdish resistance, which the KDP faced positive.
