Iduronic acid (specifically, L-iduronic acid ) is a chemical compound selected from the group of uronic acid, more specifically of the uronic acid idose.
Properties
Iduronic acid is a component of glycosaminoglycans, for example, the B and Chondroitinsulfates of heparin. It is a stereoisomer of glucuronic acid and is formed by epimerization of D -glucuronic acid at the carboxy group.
