The Instituto de Empresa ( IE short ) is a business school headquartered in Madrid. The establishment was founded in 1973 as an independent, non-profit private university. Unlike many former Spanish universities it was founded as religiously neutral institution. The IE was the first university in Madrid, who offered the business degree Master of Business Administration ( MBA). She has now developed into one of the largest business schools in the Iberian Peninsula.

The IE is, inter alia, been accredited by EQUIS, the " Association of MBAs ' and AACSB.

As is encouraged on the part of IE to economic independence, there were already more than 350 start-ups by students or graduates between 1995 and 2005.

The IE is regularly represented in international comparisons of MBA courses in the first ranks.
