IEC 60038

The international standard IEC 60038 defines a set of line voltages from the field of low voltage for use in power systems. The standard is in Germany as DIN standard DIN EN 60038 CENELEC standard voltages ( IEC 60038:2009, modified) published. Among the countries overview plug types, voltages and frequencies a list of the worldwide use of different line voltage is summarized.

Low voltage

Where "/" separated two voltages are given below by, is the first the. Between a phase conductor and the neutral conductor, while the second is between two phase conductors It is indicated in each case the effective value. For three-phase AC systems with a neutral conductor may be carried or not. The relationship between the two voltages are determined by the chaining factor.

Three-phase AC, 50 Hz

  • 230 V / 400 V
  • 400 V / 690 V
  • 1000 V

Utilities, working with 220 V / 380 V or 240 V / 415 V, should be according to the standard switched up to the year 2003 to the recommended 230 V / 400 V. This transition was completed in the European Union.

Three -phase alternating current, 60 Hz

Single-phase three-wire system, 60 Hz

In the single-phase three-wire system the following voltages are defined:
