IEEE 1451

IEEE 1451 is a collection of standards of the IEEE, the general, open, network-independent interface to describe sensors and actuators, microprocessors, sensor systems, networks and field buses connect to.

The aim of the IEEE 1451 standard is to address sensors and actuators using a common interface, regardless of whether they are connected via serial interfaces, wired or wireless networks.

A key element is the electronic data sheet "Transducer Electronic Data Sheet " ( TEDS), are stored in the information such as identification numbers of the sensor, information about calibration, manufacturer information.
