IFK Uppsala

IFK Uppsala is a Swedish sports club from the city of Uppsala.

The club was founded in 1895 and had then football, bandy, and Athletics in the offer. In the first decades of the 20th century, the club was one of the leading clubs in these sports where national titles, especially in the Bandy could be won. In the 40s the club was more or less successful in handball: 1941 reached to the final of the Swedish Championship. In 1963, the handball section was abandoned.

Today, the association only football and bandy on offer, said Bandy was reintroduced for 2006/07 season, after the activities were "temporarily" set in 1990.

In football, the club currently plays in Division 3 ( 5.Liga ) after the championship with a 2-0 in the 2009 season - was celebrated victory over Enköping IS. In bandy the new Bandymannschaft starts in the 2006/07 season in Division 4 ( 5.Liga ).

Swedish Champion: 1907, 1910, 1911, 1912, 1913, 1915-1920, 1933

Three finals at the Swedish Championship in 1907 against Örgryte IS ( 1-4), 1908 against IFK Gothenburg ( 3-4) and 1911 against AIK ( 2-3). All three games but lost.

  • Handball

Reaching the final match at the Swedish Championship in season 1940/41, against IFK Kristianstad. The game lost the IFK Uppsala however.
