Ignace Leybach

Ignace Xavier Joseph Leybach ( born July 17, 1817 in Gambsheim in Alsace, † May 23, 1891 in Toulouse ) was a French composer and organist.

His musical education was Ignace Xavier Joseph Leybach in Strasbourg, and later in Paris. His teachers were Pixis, Friedrich Kalkbrenner and Chopin. In 1844 he became organist of the cathedral at Toulouse.

Leybach was an excellent pianist and has a large number that have become popular salon compositions (eg Tarantella, Op 72, published by Schott, Mainz ) issued, and a harmonium school, concert pieces for harmonium, a large organ School (L' organiste pratique, 3 volumes of 130, 120 and 100 pieces ) and some books of songs and motets with organ.
