Ignatius Ghattas

Ignatius Ghattas BS ( born December 25, 1920 in Nazareth, † 11 October 1992 in Cleveland) was bishop of the Melkite Greek Catholic Church of Newton (USA).

Life

Ignatius Ghattas grew up in the small village of Maalula in Syria on among the Christians of the Melkite Greek Catholic Church. After attending primary school, he entered the monastery of the Melkite Basilian the Most Holy Redeemer on November 5, 1933.
