Ignaz Brüll

Ignaz howler ( born November 7, 1846 in Proßnitz, Moravia, † September 17, 1907 in Vienna) was an Austrian composer and pianist.

Life

Ignaz howler came from a highly musical family: His father was a trained baritone, his mother a pianist. Approximately since 1854 howler was taught by his mother at the piano. Other teachers were Brülls Julius Epstein (piano ), Johann Rufinatscha and Felix Otto Dessoff (composition).

1860 Howler debuted in Vienna as a pianist and had immediate success. But after several foreign tours with his own compositions, he gave up a career as a concert pianist in favor of composing. As a day job, he worked 1872-1878 at the Horakschen piano schools as a teacher. In 1881 he was appointed as artistic director there. 1882 married howler the banker's daughter Marie Schofield mountain. With her he had two daughters. With Johannes Brahms he formed a lifelong friendship. His grave site is located in Vienna's Central Cemetery and there on the old Jewish cemetery.

By Brülls composition The Golden Cross, an opera which was a great success, puts the rest of his work in the background.
