Ignaz Umlauf

Ignaz Umlauf ( born August 21, 1746 Kirchberg am Wagram, Lower Austria, † June 8, 1796 in Meidling in Vienna) was an Austrian composer, violist and conductor.

Life

Circulation of his musical education, inter alia, received with Antonio Salieri, was in 1772 a violist in the Vienna Court Opera. In 1778 he celebrated the premiere of his Singspiel The miners at the opening of the initiated by Emperor Joseph II " German National - Singspiel " a great success. In 1782 he took over the training of the singing boys of the court music, 1783, he was a substitute Salieri at the newly established Italian opera ensemble.
