Igor Corman

Igor Corman ( born December 17, 1969 in Ciulucani, Rajon Teleneşti, Moldavian SSR, Soviet Union ) is a Moldovan politician ( PDM). He was from 2004 to 2009 Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova in the Federal Republic of Germany and since 2009 Member of the Moldovan Parliament and Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee for Foreign Policy and European Integration.

Career

Corman studied from 1986 to 1990 at the State University of Moldova in Chisinau and from 1990 to 1992 at the University of Iaşi history. From 1992 to 1994 he completed his doctorate at the University of Iaşi and researched thereafter until 1995 with a DAAD scholarship at the Ludwig- Maximilians- University of Munich.

1995 Corman entered the Foreign Service of the Republic of Moldova and went through there first several Ministerialverwendungen. In 1997 he visited the European Centre for Security Studies in Garmisch -Partenkirchen and held thereafter various functions in the Moldovan Embassy in the Federal Republic of Germany before 2001, control of the Department for Europe and North America in the Moldovan Ministry of Foreign Affairs took over. In 2004 he was appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova in the Federal Republic of Germany and held that post until his election to the Moldovan Parliament in 2009.

Since 2009 he is a member of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova and sitting there before the Committee on Foreign Affairs and European Integration.

Corman is married and has two children. He speaks Moldovan (Romanian), Russian, English and German.
