Igor Flach

Igor Flach ( born March 12, 1966 in Jena, † March 8, 2008 in Berlin) was a German musician and blues harp player. Flat was considered one of the best "all -category- harp player ". Originally inspired by authentic blues, he was later associated with any musical genre, as played rock, folk or country music and offered excellent African, Greek and Russian live acts. Flat was characterized by an unconventional way, a hypnotic rhythm and an intoxicating melody. He convinced with a particular play, by playing the harmonica when inhaling and exhaling with his own technique.

Work

Flat learned at the age of ten years, the self-taught harmonica. He was inspired by Stefan Diestelmann and the French blues harp player Jean -Jacques Milteau. After an apprentice watchmaker, he joined 1984 Jonathan Blues Band and began his career as a professional musician. In the East Berlin blues scene, he met Hans know the violin. With the support composed and produced flat German -language blues songs. The lyrics came from Michael Sellin. From 1987 to 1989 he played with Passat, appeared as a guest musician on in Pankow and Tino Steadfast band and was involved in the recording of different LPs.

Since the 1990s flat was primarily a soloist, toured the U.S., France and Russia and has been involved as a guest in the production of various CDs. In the early 1990s he had several guest appearances on Stefan Diestelmann and performed together with the Yardbirds, Alicia Levy, Louisiana Red, the Uwe Ochsenknecht tape, Abi Wallenstein, Buzz Dee (now Knorkator ), Rudi Howard and Guitar Crusher.

Together with Stefan Strahli beam, he founded the band Niel Jang, a German Neil Young - cover band and belonged to the Gospel to Unlimited. Until his death in intensive cooperation with Uwe Blue Rudy Haase joined him as a duo "Igor Flach & Rudi Bluesman ".

Flat took between 1994 and 2004 on six solo albums. He was one of the sponsors of the music festival " harmonica live" in Klingenthal, worked as a lecturer at various workshops at the " Academy of Music Mark Neukirchen eV " and ran a harp shop.

With his partner, he became the father of two daughters. After a heart condition of the musicians died a few days before his 42nd birthday at the consequences of major surgery in the ICU of the Berlin Heart Institute.
