Igor Giorgadze

Igor Giorgadze (Georgian იგორ გიორგაძე; born July 23, 1950 in Zaisan, Kazakhstan) is a Georgian politician. From 1968 to 1991 he was a KGB officer. From 1993 to 1995 he was Georgian Minister of State Security. He left Georgia after he was accused to have been masterminding an assassination attempt on President Eduard Shevardnadze on 29 August 1995. From Russia, he manages the Georgian party Samartlianoba (German justice ) and the Georgian party alliance anti - Soros movement.

Life

KGB officer

He was born the son of the general of the Red Army Panteleimon Giorgadze.

1968 Giorgadze joined the KGB, began studying at the Intelligence Academy in Moscow. In 1973 he completed his studies as a legal and linguist. He then held various positions at the Georgian KGB. 1980 to 1981 he took part in the Soviet occupation of Afghanistan, was a member of the cascade working group in Kandahar. Minister of State Security
