Igor Kurnosov

Igor Dmitrievich Kurnossow (Russian Игорь Дмитриевич Курносов, born 30 May 1985 in Chelyabinsk, † August 8, 2013 ) was a Russian chess grandmaster.

Career

Kurnossow was the son of a lecturer at the State University of Southern Urals and a programmer. He learned to play chess at age four. He was supervised Schachlich of different trainers ( Andrei Kirillov, Alexander Kozyrev, Alexander Panchenko ) and was able to show as a teenager good results. In 1999, he won with a school team, the traditional Belaya Ladja tournament in Serpukhov. The next year he was first in the U18 Championship Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation in Anapa. 2003 in Sochi he was Russian U18 Champion. Kurnossow studied at the University of Southern Urals, then at the Ural State Mining University.

The first standard of an International Master he won in 1999 at a tournament in Chelyabinsk with wins over Semyon Dwoiris and Yevgeny Sveshnikov, another at a stage of the Russian Cup in Minsk 2000. A rating of 2400 Elo points, he only reached between July and October 2001 and was subsequently rewarded by the FIDE with the IM title. In 2003 he became Grand Master, the standards for scoring 2002 at Alushta Autumn tournament and a chess festival in Serpukhov.

He won or occupied top positions in several tournaments: II place harmony Tournament Groningen (2003), IV 8th place open Bavarian Championship Bad Wiessee (2004), First Square International Congress 2008 /09 Hastings (2009), First Square Arctic Chess Challenge Tromsø (2009), First Square policies Cup Helsingør. When Aeroflot Open 2009 in Moscow, he won against Şəhriyar Məmmədyarov in 21 moves with black, then Məmmədyarov resigned, accusing Kurnossow the help of a computer from the tournament. The tournament referee rejected this as unfounded. 2011 won Kurnossow policies Cup in Copenhagen with 8.5 points over 10 games. In 2013 he won, after each vote, when open in Nakhchivan and the 20th Abu Dhabi International Chess Festival.

He played in the Austrian Bundesliga on board one of the SK Sparkasse Fürstenfeld. In the German Bundesliga, he fought for the SV Wiesbaden, in the British 4NCL Guildford - A & DC, in Portugal for DG Diana. With Tomsk -400, he won the Russian Team Championship 2012 in Sochi.

On the night of August 8, 2013 Kurnossow died in a car accident in which he was involved as a pedestrian, died.
