Igor Lukashin

Igor Vladimirovich Lukaschin (Russian Игорь Владимирович Лукашин, born August 7, 1979 in Penza) is a former Russian diver. He jumped in the 10 - m tower and synchronized diving. Lukaschin was 2000 Olympic champion in the year and also won several medals at World and European Championships.

Lukaschin won several medals at Junior World and European Championships, first since 1993. At the European Championships in Seville in 1997 he won his first medal in the adult area. In the 10 -meter synchronized diving, he won with Alexander Varlamov silver. The duo was one year later also win the bronze medal at the World Championships in Perth. At the European Championships in Istanbul in 1999, he again won silver in the 10 -meter synchronized diving, this time on the side of Vladimir Timoschinin. The year 2000 then became athletic Lukaschins successful year. First, he won at the European Championships in Helsinki from the tower with Dmitri Sautin gold and individual bronze. Lukaschin graduated in 2005 from a study at the State Pedagogical University of Penza. In the same year he ended his active career. Lukaschin was awarded the Order of Friendship. He is married and has one daughter.
