Igor Ozhiganov

Igor Olegovich Oschiganow (Russian Игорь Олегович Ожиганов; born 13 October 1992 in Krasnogorsk ) is a Russian ice hockey player who is under contract with Sibir Novosibirsk HK in the Kontinental Hockey League since May 2013.

Career

Igor Oschiganow began his career as a hockey player in the junior department of the HK CSKA Moscow, for its junior team Krasnaya Armia Moscow, he was active from 2009 to 2012 in the multinational junior league Molodjoschnaja Chokkeinaja league. With the team he won the Kharlamov Cup in season 2010/11. In parallel, he ran from 2010 to 2012 in nine games for the first team of CSKA Moscow in the Kontinental Hockey League, and scoring two goals. For the 2012/13 season the defender was obliged by the KHL league rivals Amur Khabarovsk, where he was a regular player at first. In 49 KHL games for the club he scored 15 points scorer before he was brought back from CSKA right before the play-offs. After the end of the season Oschiganow was traded along with Dmitri Kugryschew against Nikita Zaitsev from HK Sibir Novosibirsk. In addition, the HK Sibir received financial compensation payment.

Internationally

For Russia Oschiganow took part in the U20 World Youth Championship 2012, where he won the silver medal with his team.
