Igor Trandenkov

Igor Leonidovich Trandenkow (Russian Игорь Леонидович Транденков, English transcription Igor Trandenkov, . Born August 17, 1966 in Leningrad ) is a retired Russian pole vaulter.

The first major international success of his career was winning the silver medal at the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona. He jumped over a height of 5.80 m and was defeated only because of the greater number of failed attempts his height same teammates Maxim Tarasov.

Other medals followed with third place finishes at the World Athletics Championships in Stuttgart in 1993 and at the Indoor Athletics Championships in Paris in 1994 and second place at the European Athletics Championships in Helsinki in 1994.

At the Olympic Games in Atlanta in 1996, he finally won his second Olympic silver medal. With a height of 5.92 m outperformed Serhiy Bubkas Olympic record by two inches.
