IIHF European Cup 1968
The Hockey European Cup in the 1967/68 season was the third edition of the competition of the same name by the International Ice Hockey Federation IIHF. The competition began in October 1967 and ended with the final on April 6, 1968. A total of 16 teams from 15 nations it part. The Czechoslovak defending TJ ZKL Brno won the title for the third and last time; in the final, the team defeated the Czechoslovak champion Dukla Jihlava ASD.
Mode and participants
The country masters of the year 1966/67, the European members of the IIHF and the defending champion TJ ZKL Brno were qualified for the competition. Since Brno had become in the preseason not Czechoslovak champion, took the first time two teams from one country in this competition.
The competition was held in the knockout system. From this year only return game was played instead of the previous four games in each round. The defending champion Dukla Jihlava and Brno were set for the semifinals. Two other clubs received a bye in the first round.
