IIHF European Cup 1977
The Hockey European Cup in the 1976/77 season was the twelfth edition of the competition of the same name by the International Ice Hockey Federation IIHF. The competition began in October 1976; the final was played in December 1978 and February 1979. A total of 16 teams took part. The TJ Sokol Kladno won for the first time the title.
Mode and participants
The country masters of the 1975 /76 European members of the IIHF were qualified for the competition. The competition was held in the knockout system in return game.
