Ik ben verliefd (Sha-la-lie)

Ik ben verliefd ( Sha -la- lie) was the Dutch contribution to the Euro Vision Song Contest 2010 in Norway. The song, which you can assign to the Beat, was performed there by Sieneke. However, it failed in the semifinals of the Euro Vision Song Contest 2010.

Versions

By the end of 2009, a demo version was presented, which contains another line of text in relation to the final version. It was sung by the author, Pierre Kartner.

In the preliminary round, five different versions of the song by five different singers were presented:

  • Sieneke sang a barrel organ version.
  • Vinzzent submitted the song in a jazz version, it includes an additional stanza.

Criticism

After the song was presented as an official part of the ESC, the song by the Dutch press and the population was adversely criticized on the grounds that the song for the modern music world " too old " is.

Four judges, including Johnny Logan, her favorite gave one vote each, in addition, there was a vote for favorites from the studio audience. After two jurors spoke out for Sieneke and DLT and the audience vote for Vinzzent also did not yield any decision, Pierre Kartner had to choose between Sieneke and DLT. After he initially refused to come to a decision and even determine the winner by flipping coins wanted, he decided to arbitrarily likely for Sieneke.

Accusation of plagiarism

Composer Pierre Kartner was accused of having the melody of the song published in 1994 Angelien which originates from the Dutch musician Dick van Altena used. This suspicion was known almost one month after winning the Dutch decider. However, in early May 2010 it was announced that van Altena have contributed to the song and agreed to use a slightly different melody of his songs.

Euro Vision Song Contest 2010

Sieneke contributed the song on 27 May 2010 before the second semi-final of the Euro Vision Song Contest. There it reached only to persons 11th place with 47 points, was due to an additional jury verdict but before two of the ten subsequent Final qualifiers.
