IKCO Samand

The IKCO Samand is a car model of the Iranian manufacturer Iran Khodro, which is based on the Peugeot 405. Other names for it are Peykan X7, New Peykan or car for the people. Samand is Persian and refers to a particularly fast horse breed. Abroad, the model under various model name is known. Thus, the model in Venezuela under the name Venirauto Centauro, Azerbaijan AzSamand Aziz, Senegal SenIran Samand Samand LX and SenIran Mandori, Syria Siamco Sham and Belarus is sold as Samand TU5.

Development

The development of the Samand by Iranian and international engineers began in 1996, production for testing purposes but only in the year 2000. 2002 by Iran Khodro Samand a production line for the set, which was officially opened by the then President Khatami.

It is in its technical properties with European cars fully comparable and has all the features of a modern car such as ABS and electric windows. Technology

Export

The export of Samand began in 2006 to Russia and Bulgaria. The Samand is to be offered in the future in Turkey, Poland, United Arab Emirates, Pakistan, Afghanistan and Egypt.
