Il Gazzettino

Il Gazzettino is an Italian regional newspaper. It appears in the northern Italian regions of Veneto and Friuli- Venezia Giulia. The daily newspaper published lies by the penetration figures in eighth place among the Italian daily newspapers and is the most important in TRIVENETO.

The newspaper consists of the national, the regional and a specific local section. The Monday edition is accompanied by the sports supplement Ognisport.

History

Il Gazzettino ( Italian: The leaflet, the newspaper ) was founded in March 1887 by Gianpietro Talamini. The order of the oldest newspapers in Italy scoring Gazzettino originally appeared on a single print sheet and was severely limited in its distribution. However, to an increasing popularity of the newspaper soon helped a number of serialized novels and novellen.

1936 took over the Italian fascists with the chief editor Giorgio Pini, the newspaper, and in 1938 became Giuseppe Volpi owned the legal control. After the deposition of Mussolini on 25 July 1943, Diego Valeri editor of the newspaper, but then had to emigrate after 8 September 1943.

1977 drew the editors of Gazzettinos from their original home in the Ca ' Faccanon (Venice) in Via Torino in Mestre. Six years later, a Venetian entrepreneur merger eventually founded the publishing house of the newspaper, the Società Editrice Padana September SpA.

In July 2006, the publishing group Caltagirone Editore got in at the publisher of the newspaper and gained 52% of the shares. On 31 December 2006, Caltagirone was owned by 67.21 %, the publisher shares.
