Il Piccolo

Il Piccolo is an Italian daily newspaper based in Trieste.

The newspaper was founded in 1881 by Teodoro Mayer and has been released on December 29th of the same year for the first time. Despite initial difficulties, the Tageblatt reached a remarkably high circulation at the end of the 19th century. In 1900, the article contained increasingly political issues that reflected particular the opinion of irredentism. The concept and ideology of the irredentist movement were thus pass on to layers with lower levels of education.

Politically represents the newspaper today, a moderate left stance, is provided with some high-quality journalism and, with a circulation of 40,000 copies of the most important newspapers in the Friuli -Venezia Giulia region, but is virtually sold only in the province of Trieste.
