Île de l' Ouest ( German as " West Island "), is an island of the Kerguelen Archipelago in the southern Indian Ocean. Politically, it is part of the French overseas territory " Terres et australes antarctiques françaises ".

Geography

Île de l' Ouest is located in the extreme west of the archipelago, with only a few hundred meters before the Presqu'ile des Lacs ( " peninsula of lakes" ) on the west coast of Grande Terre, the main island of the archipelago.
