The Ile de la Madeleine is one of the capital of Senegal, Dakar, and the Cabo Verde nearly four kilometers west offshore island.

The 0.15 km ² large, highly indented coastline in the island is part of the Parc National des îles de la Madeleine and World Heritage Site by Unesco. Except baobab trees are found lizards and geckos, Raven Shield, Black Kite, Cormorant, Red- tailed Tropicbird, Crested Lark and weaver birds. The marine fauna is Epinephelus, barracuda and tuna.

The visit to the island requires prior approval by the National Park Service in Dakar.
