Ilia State University

The State Ilia University (Georgian ილიას სახელმწიფო უნივერსიტეტი ) is a university in the Georgian capital Tbilisi. They emerged in 2006 from the Association of State Ilia Chavchavadze University - language and culture with the Sulkhan Saba Orbeliani University (originally Institut) for pedagogy forth. Since then, further education and research institutions of the University were connected: the Academy for Sport and Physical Education, which Dawit - Guramishvili College of Education, the James - Gogebashvili Research Institute for Education, the National Astrophysical Ewgeni - Charadse Observatory Abastumani, the Seismological Monitoring Centre and the Zoological Institute.

History

The State Ilia Tschawtschwadse University was founded in turn on 1 October 1948 as the State Institute of Foreign Languages ​​Tbilisi. Later, the Institute for the university was collected and was named the leader of the Georgian national movement, the poet, playwrights and journalists Ilia Chavchavadze. There were degrees in English, German, Spanish, Italian, Georgian, Russian and Swedish are acquired.
