Iliana Yotova

Ilijana Malinowa Jotowa (also Iliyana Mali Nova Yotova written, Bulgarian Илияна Малинова Йотова; born October 24, 1964 in Sofia, Bulgaria) is a Bulgarian politician of the Bulgarian Socialist Party ( BSP short ) and Member of the European Parliament.

From 1991 to 1997 she worked as a journalist for the news service at the Bulgarian National Television. In March 1997, moved to the press center of the GNP. In April 2000 she became a member of the municipal council of the city of Sofia for the BSP. In May 2000, she was elected the Board of the BSP. As of January 9, 2006, she held the position of Executive Deputy BSP district association Sofia.

In 2005 she was elected as a Member of the Coalition for Bulgaria, who also belongs to the BSP in the 40th Bulgarian Parliament. In 2007 she was elected to the European Parliament as a candidate of the list of Coalition for Bulgaria to the European elections redrawn. In the European elections 2009, she was confirmed as such, also as a candidate of the Coalition for Bulgaria.

Ilijana Jotowa holds a degree in " Bulgaristik and French Philology " at Sofia St. Kliment Ohridski University.

Activities as an MEP

Jotowa is connected in the European Parliament Group of the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats.

She is Deputy Chairperson of the Delegation to the Parliamentary Cooperation Committee EU-Moldova.

As a member, it is the Committee on Fisheries of the Petitions Committee, the Special Committee against organized crime, corruption and money laundering, as well as in the delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly EURO- NEST.

Deputy is Jotowa the Committee on Employment and Social Affairs, the Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs and the Delegation for relations with the Maghreb countries and the Arab Maghreb Union.
