Iliolumbar artery

The artery iliolumbalis ( " iliac - lumbar artery" ) is a blood vessel of the arterial circulation. It is the first branch of the internal iliac artery ( internal iliac artery ).

The artery iliolumbalis rises behind the musculus psoas major decline for iliac fossa ( iliac fossa ), where individual branches supply the musculus iliacus. Further disposals of the artery supplying the psoas major and minor, quadratus lumborum musculus, musculus transversus abdominis and a ramus spinalis the spinal canal between the fifth lumbar vertebra and the sacrum.

The artery anastomoses with the circumflex artery ilium profunda.
